Its been a three long seasons Sunrisers haven’t been able to win their 2nd IPL trophy. SRH were the 2016 IPL champions, and RCB was the runner ups. We have seen outstanding cricket from SRH every season, but winning the trophy is becoming a bit harder for them. They have played 2 IPL finals and won one of them and lost to CSK in the 2018 finals. Let’s measure about SRH’s every department :
Powerhouse Of Batting:
If your team has batsmen like David Warner and Johny Bairstow, you have already won the first six overs, but the first six overs won’t win you the game. There is no problem in SRH’s opening problem, but when you take two early wickets of SRH, you suddenly knock out of the game for too many overs. Manish Pandey is an excellent quiet player, but no other experience player can take SRH innings till the end; it’s their biggest problem. We’ve seen their two games in this IPL, but super Kane isn’t in their playing xi. Which doesn’t allow play Bairstow and Warner to play freely? With the Australian young talented allrounder, Mitch has been ruled out of the IPL due to injury; they bring Carrabian big man Jason Holder, a replacement. There are many young talented batsmen, but you need at least 1/2 well-matured player who can lead SRH very well in the middle overs.
Average Bowling Performances:
Just like batting SRH’s bowling attack, it also relies on 2/3 bowlers, which isn’t good enough to be in the title race until the end. Rashid Khan is doing well, and Bhuvi does so, but sometimes he also looks bit rusty. Young bowler Abahiek Sharma also looks promising still; there are many bugs in the bowling department. Rashid will lead the middle over, and Bhuvi will lead the first six overs, but who will lead the death overs ??? That’s the thing SRH staffs need to talk about. A couple of young bowlers can help Bhuvi and Rashid, but they need some time. They must be given a chance and need better captaincy to control them.
What’s Missing ???
For me, SRH is badly missing Shakib Al Hassan, who doesn’t ?? No.1 allrounder in the world. His absence exposed SRH very much, which isn’t good news for captain David Warner. Lost of Mitch Marsh will also hurt them very much, and the foremost thing is that they haven’t well-matured batsman in the middle order and a proper death bowler. There is no problem in captaincy, and SRH has brought many legends to handle their team to seal their 2nd trophy. Supporting staff and David will also solve these problems and hope that he will catch up on his prime form once again to entertain ourselves at home. I hope the Orange Army will come back hard and show others what they are and what the IPL trophy meant to them.
